Rearranging complex formulae by changing the subject
Key words: rearrange, inverse,factorising,formulae
Write 2(x+3)-4(x+2)+6in the form a(bx+c) where a,b and c are integers and a>1
2(x+1)(x-1)+ax+b = 2x^2+8x-5 work out the values of a and b
Proof
1) 2(x+3)-4(x+2)+6=2(x-2)
2) a=8 and b=-4
Make n the subject of the formula 2m=2n-12 , n,m are integers
Answer
2m+12=2n->(2m+12)/2 = n-> m+6=n
